When did you first know that you wanted to be a scientist or engineer? When I was an undergraduate student at UMBC.  I did undergraduate research in the Lab of Dr. Janice Lumpkin.  I remembered the excitement of my first experimental results.  I knew I wanted to keep having that great feeling of a new discovery.

What is your happiest moment in science or engineering so far? The moment I got the news of the funding of NSF CAREER award

Would you ever leave science or engineering? Why? No. The excitement and highly rewarding feeling of working with graduate students are irreplaceable.

What was the most challenging experience you ever had as a scientist or engineer? My first ever scientific publication as an independent researcher had seven reviewers!  It was quite an experience trying to respond to all.

Knowing what you do now know, would you be a scientist or engineer again? Why? Yes.  Working with students, working with colleagues at the forefront engineering innovation is as good as it gets!
